Vic Firth set out to create a line of marimba and vibraphone mallets that play with weight and emphasis, just like the musical term Pesante and the lines’ namesake. They are made out a thick yarn or cord that minimizes attack and produced a dark, bold sound with beautiful projection and sonority.

The M200 Bass Marimba model is extra soft with a large sized head to produce huge low end sounds with next to no attack.
